Temperatures quickly rebound, but several shower chances in the week ahead

It was a cold and blustery final day of February – which on the majority of years would be the first day of March, but ’tis a leap year!

Looking back on February, it was both a mild (+2.5°) and dry month. We finished with about 2.5″ of rain thanks to the last few days – before Wednesday, we were facing a top 5 dry February!

Clear skies across the area tonight, with temperatures dropping into the lower 20s. March kicks off with sunshine and seasonable temperatures topping out in the lower 40s.

The weekend will see a return of the 50s but it comes with some rain. Showers arrive by midday Saturday, with some heavy stuff possible during the evening and early nighttime hours.

A few showers could linger into early Sunday, but there has been a fairly agreed upon drying trend amongst our computer models. Still, skies will remain mostly cloudy.

Highs will remain in the 50s through the end of next week, but there will be a possibility of showers each day with the exception of Monday.
