Tentative award given for Washington Bridge demolition

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A tentative award has been given to AETNA Bridge Company in the bid for the demolition of part of the Washington Bridge.

AETNA’s proposal would cost $45.7 million dollars.

The only other proposal the state received, from Manafort Brothers Inc., came out to $43.8 million.

Bidding for the project was open until June 21.

ABC 6 reached out to AETNA for comment and is waiting for a response.
