TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WLNE) — The family of the Tewksbury mother who was killed in the Vegas massacre spoke out by way of a statement Wednesday morning.

A cousin of 42-year-old Rhonda LeRocque read prepared remarks by her husband.

Jason LeRocque wrote about the horror that was the shooting saying she was hit very early on and rushed to the hospital where she died hours later.

He describes Rhonda as the most happy, caring, sweet, and self-sacrificing person he has ever known.

“Words cannot properly describe the loss we feel and the emptiness Rhonda’s death leaves in all of us. We are heartened however by the vast outpouring of love, support, tenderness and the giving we have seen literally since the moment those horrific shots started,” said the cousin of Rhonda LeRocque, Ken Ball.

A wake for LeRocque is planned for Friday afternoon. A public memorial service is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium of Tewksbury Memorial High School.
