A third Democrat has entered the race for Rhode Island General Treasurer in 2014.

30-year-old Seth Magaziner from Bristol, R.I., announced his candidacy on Tuesday morning in a video message.

“I'm running for treasurer to bring new ideas and new energy to state government. We can do great things in Rhode Island, but we can't expect the same State House insiders who created this mess to get us out of it,” Magaziner said.

Magaziner has worked as an investment banker and has a bachelors degree from Brown University and a Masters degree in business administration from Yale University.

He currently serves on the board of Crossroads Rhode Island and Serve Rhode Island.

Frank Caprio and Ernie Almonte are also seeking the office of General Treasurer as Democrats.
