Third person dies from EEE in Massachusetts

A third person has died from Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) in Massachusetts, according to the state’s department of health.
Health officials say it was one of the 10 cases that was previously reported.
Not much information is available about the victim at this time.
Two other people in Massachusetts have died from the virus including a Freetown man in his 70s, and a Fairhaven woman in her 50s who died in August.
There have been three human cases of EEE in Rhode Island and one of them has died.
Between Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, five people have died from EEE.
