Third suspect in fatal Fall River shooting appears in court

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The third suspect charged in connection to the shooting death of a teen in Fall River last week appeared in court Wednesday.

19-year-old Jadyn Ortiz was in court for his arraignment and was ordered held on $500,000 bail on charges of accessory to murder after-the-fact.

If bail is posted Ortiz must wear a GPS tracking device and have no contact with any witnesses or the other defendants.

Ortiz was seen on surveillance footage obtained in the investigation.

Police arrested Ortiz at his apartment and found cash and a 45-caliber handgun that was thrown out the window.

The weapon is being tested to see if it matches the one used in the shooting.

Ortiz has three other active cases against him.

The other two suspects are also charged with accessory to murder after-the-fact.

The other suspects 19-year-old Xzavien Figueroa-Valcarel and 18-year-old Giovanni Nunes were arraigned earlier this week.

They’re both being held on $250,000 bail.

The victim, 18-year-old Colus Jamal Mills-Good was shot and killed last week on Rock Street.
