Third victim in Somerset Christmas crash dies

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts State Police said a third victim in the Christmas night wrong-way drunk driving crash on Veterans Memorial Bridge has died.

68-year-old Donna Arruda of Seekonk died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

New charges of manslaughter while operating under the influence and motor vehicle homicide – OUI liquor will be filed against Adam Gauthier the driver in the case.

Gauthier allegedly drove eastbound on the westbound lane of the bridge.

He then collided with two vehicles.
