Thousands join in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Roger Williams Park

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Thousands showed up to Roger Williams Park Sunday morning for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The walk in Providence raises money for services and programs provided by the Alzheimer’s Association across Rhode Island.
The CEO of the Rhode Island Alzheimer’s Association Chapter, Donna McGowan, said 25,000 Rhode Islanders have Alzheimer’s.
She said there are also 61,000 caregivers for those affected by the memory-robbing disease in the Ocean State.
The Rhode Island chapter’s goal is to raise $362,000 by December 31. As of October 1, they have raised $232,257.
