Police investigating threat found inside Barrington High School

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE)- Barrington Schools Superintendent confirmed and shared a copy of the message that went out to all members of the Barrington Public Schools community regarding a threat found in one of the girls bathrooms.

After Barrington High School was made aware of the threat police were contacted and an investigation began immediately. The high school along with police will continue to monitor the situation, and Barrington police will also provide an additional presence at the school until Winter Recess.

At this time the investigation is still active and anyone with any information is encouraged to speak to the Barrington police.

Good afternoon,
This afternoon, Barrington High School building administration was made aware of a threat written in the girls’ bathroom. The Barrington Police Department was contacted immediately and is currently investigating the situation.
All threats are taken seriously. The Barrington Police Department, in conjunction with high school administration, will continue to monitor the situation actively. Out of an abundance of caution, the Barrington Police Department will provide an additional presence at BHS until the Winter Recess.
The Barrington Police Department is conducting a full investigation and encourages students and adults to report any information related to this incident. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. Please contact the Barrington Police Department or Barrington High School if you have any additional information.
