Three arrested for Johnston robbery

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Three men were arrested, including one with 10 outstanding arrest warrants, for their connection to a robbery on Wednesday.
Johnston Police said officers responded to the Walgreens on Putnam Pike for a robbery in progress.
Upon arrival an employee informed officers that a white male suspect had assaulted the cashier, took several cartons of cigarettes, and fled the scene in a grey Hyundai with Massachusetts plates.
After patrolmen were alerted, the suspected vehicle was stopped on Route 6 near the Providence/Johnston line, and Willian E. Parenteau, 49, of Pawtucket, Timothy Ring, 40, of Woonsocket, and Peter J. Moscarelli, 52, of North Providence, were arrested.
Parenteau was charged with:
- Robbery in the 1st Degree.
- Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony.
- Conspiracy.
Ring was charged with:
- Conspiracy to commit a Robbery.
- Driving with a Suspended License.
Moscarelli was charged with:
- Conspiracy to Commit a Robbery.
- Obstruction.
Police noted Moscarelli was the subject of 10 outstanding arrest warrants.
The clerk sustained minor injuries, and was treated on scene.
