Three arrested in connection with Coventry home invasion

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) – Coventry Police have arrested three people in connection with a home invasion early Thursday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call at 30 Parker Street around 4:23 a.m. for reports of a home invasion.

According to Police a female resident reported being awoken in the night to the sound of someone in her residence. She confronted a male subject in the residence who forced her out of his way before fleeing the scene.

Police said several items were stolen from the residence during the incident, including prescription medications, jewelry, and a laptop computer. The resident was not injured during the incident.

Further investigation revealed that a first-floor window had been broken to gain entry to the residence, and blood was located in the immediate area. Police also located a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident abandoned in front of the residence.

Coventry Police later located two individuals at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 24 Coventry Shopper’s Park. Police determined that one of the subjects, identified as Kenneth Delvalle, 28, of Southbridge, MA, was bleeding from his hand. Police also located stolen property from the Parker Street residence in the vicinity of Delvalle.

Delvalle and his girlfriend, Alisha Hathaway, 27, of Haverhill, MA, were taken into custody.

Police later arrested a third individual, identified as Richard Smith, 30, of Coventry, who had allegedly fled the scene of the home invasion.

All three suspects were arraigned Thursday at Kent County Courthouse on the following charges:

  • Conspiracy
  • Simple Assault, 2 counts

Richard Smith

  • Breaking and Entering
  • Conspiracy

Alisha Hathaway

  • Conspiracy

The incident is under further investigation.
