Three-car-crash ends in head-on collision, 1 driver seriously injured

WRENTHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Two people were hospitalized after a three car crash ended in a violent head-on collision Friday night.

The Wrentham Police Department said the crash happened on Route 1, in front of the Arbor Inn.

Witnesses of the crash told police that a sedan driving south on Rt. 1 rear-ended a pickup truck, causing the sedan to deflect into the oncoming lane, then crashing head-on into another sedan.

The driver of the first sedan was seriously injured, police said. The driver of the second sedan was also injured but the extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
