Three families displaced in early morning Fall River fire

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Fire Department responded to 2039 Pleasant Street at 2:52 a.m. Wednesday for reports of an apartment fire.

No fire or smoke was visible upon their arrival, but heavy smoke came from basement when that door was opened.

The fire was located in the front section of the basement.

Additional crews were called to the scene and the last units left the scene at 5:08 a.m.

Three families were displaced in the fire, including six adults and one child, along with several animals.
