WILMINGTON, Mass. (WLNE) – A three-year-old girl and an adult woman were injured in a one car crash on Route 93 in Wilmington Thursday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash around 4:20 p.m. State Police say the girl was ejected during the crash, and was transported by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

The adult woman, 32, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mass General. The girl and woman were the only occupants of the vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police believe the vehicle veered to the left, hit the guardrail and rolled over it, landing on the roof.

Two child car seats were found inside the vehicle. Whether the child was restrained appropriately in a car seat is part of the investigation.
