Thunderstorms Possible Thursday

Thursday starts with warm and muggy conditions as well as patchy, locally dense fog. The commute and air travel may be impacted by this fog. Rain showers develop this morning with the most intense rainfall expected along the coast. We also have a chance of thunderstorms today which, when combined with locally heavy areas of rain, could lead to localized poor-drainage flooding or even flash flooding. We will get a break in the showers in the afternoon with a second round of  showers and the chance of thunderstorms. Clouds will hold on through tonight with a leftover shower or two and some patches of fog. Lows will be in the 60s. Friday has the return to sunshine and summer-like highs in the lower-80s inland. It will also be a touch muggy and there is a slight chance of an afternoon shower. Saturday will have plenty of morning sunshine with the slightest chance of a late day pop up shower as will Sunday. The weekend locks cooler in the 70s and much more comfortable in terms of humidity. Looking ahead to next week, nice sunny days and highs in the 70s are expected through midweek.
