TikTok to file court challenge if law is passed

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLNE) — TikTok says it’s planning to file a court challenge if a bill to ban the app is signed into law.

On Saturday, the House passed a foreign aid package that calls for the app’s parent company, Byte Dance, to sell it within 270 Days or risk being banned nationwide.

TikTok has publicly opposed the bill, saying it infringes on its users’ first amendment rights.

Supporters say the law is necessary to protect Americans security and personal data.
