Time capsule to be be unveiled from Naval Station in Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Excavation work is underway to unveil a time capsule at the Naval War College Museum.

In a post, the Naval Station in Newport shared that Beneath Founders’ Rock, the time capsule was buried 100 years ago as part of the celebration of the 285th anniversary of the establishment of Newport.

In August, a full display of what is recovered will be shown at the Salute to Summer event in August, which will be a free concert and fireworks.
