FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A crow bar took center stage during opening statements Tuesday morning in the manslaughter trial against a former Swansea correctional officer.
Opening statements in Timothy Levesque’s trial began Tuesday.
Levesque is accused of killing 23-year-old Melissa White outside the Happy Clam Restaurant in 2014.
While he claimed it was in self-defense, the state claimed Levesque planted a crow bar at the scene as a cover up.
His attorney countered saying White and her friends had been stalking his house. However, the defense argued Levesque shot White when she came at him with a crowbar.
He argued Levesque had confronted her about staying away from his home
