TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) – A sanctuary in Tiverton kept busy by taking care of abused, neglected and abandoned animals is now in need of some help itself.
The West Place Animal Sanctuary depends solely on donations, and as their farm continues to fill up, the need for help is greater than ever before.
At the West Place Animal Sanctuary in Tiverton, hundreds of animals are getting a second chance at life, all of them abused, neglected, or abandoned.
The sanctuary has been opening its doors to animals in need for 11 years, but Executive Director Wendy Taylor says recently they’ve run into some problems.
Renovation and construction projects at the sanctuary have already cost upwards of $20,000.
Since the Sanctuary is a non profit and depends on donations, they’re now in need of help to stay afloat.
The sanctuary is hosting a fundraiser this weekend to raise money so that they can continue doing what they do.
The comedy show fundraiser will be held Saturday at the Elks Lodge in West Warwick.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
