One man dead following car fire in Tiverton

Tiverton, R.I. – Police confirmed one man is dead following a car fire in Tiverton. Fire crews responded to the area of Thomas St. and Furey Ave, and found the vehicle parked in a side driveway surrounded by tree’s. The man was reportedly trapped inside, and crews were not able to get him out in time.
"I saw a blue car turn around across the street from my house here, and head down Thomas street," Amy Paulantonio told ABC6 News. "A few moments later, there were flames coming out of the bushes over there, and out of the trees. And really bad smoke up in the sky."
The State Fire Marshall, as well as, local police and fire are investigating. No details are being released at this time regarding the person killed.
The area is being treated as a crime scene.
