Tiverton football coach sends open invitation to Taylor Swift to attend game
TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — She wears short skirts, they wear t-shirts, she’s cheer captain and they’re hoping Taylor Swift is in the bleachers.
An open letter was sent from the Tiverton Tigers offensive coordinator hoping to bring the new NFL icon to a home game.
This letter was posted on Facebook earlier this week.
The fearless move by coach Kenyon Thayer says “you belong with me” to Taylor Swift and hopes to raise awareness about the work the Tigers have been putting in this year.
“There will absolutely be an envelope with $20 for her and three of her squad to attend,” Thayer said. “It will be there waiting for her.”
Thayer told ABC 6 News crew he’s hopeful the post gets shared around enough that they get a response back.
“Any chance I can get to promote our football team, the good work they’re doing and how hard they’re working, I want to do that,” Thayer said.
If not, they’ll shake it off and leave the invitation open for the rest of the season.
Tiverton takes on Exeter-West Greenwich Friday night at their home field.
