Tiverton man charged with sexually assaulting teen girl

Police arrested a Tiverton man over the weekend on charges he sexually assaulted a teen girl.

Police say 22-year-old Alexander Bangs was arrested May 23 after an investigation revealed he allegedly engaged in sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl.

Bangs has been released on $3000.00 surety bail and ordered to have no-contact with the victim.

Police say detectives from Bristol, Middletown, Narragansett, Middletown, and Swansea, MA Police Departments helped in the investigation.
