Tiverton man sentenced to prison for robbery in Massachusetts

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Tiverton man involved in a Fall River robbery last year has been sentenced to prison.

The Bristol District Attorney’s Office said 59-year-old Randy Audet will serve five to seven year in prison after he pleaded guilty to the armed robbery at Maplewood Suprette.

“This defendant committed another armed robbery while on release for the same type of crime. He clearly needs to be kept off the street to protect the public and the local small business community,” District Attorney Quinn said.

Fall River police responded on the afternoon of May 29, 2021, to the store on Stafford Road.

Two women working at the time told police a man walked in and yelled, “Lottery, money, lottery, money,” while pointing at the lottery machine and appearing to have a gun.

One of the women was able to chase Audet out of the store with a bat after he grabbed cash and smashed his driver’s side car window, according to the district attorney’s office. After she was able to pull his face mask down, Audet threw the money and fled.

Police later found Audet at a home just over the Rhode Island state line.
