Tiverton police arrest Fall River man wanted in Louisiana

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Tiverton police said Monday they arrested a Fall River man who’s wanted in Louisiana.

Police said 21-year-old Christian Baez was stopped at about 4:30 p.m. Friday for driving the wrong way on Canonicus Street.

Baez, police said, had a warrant out of Louisiana for a probation violation related to an aggravated assault in 2021.

The 21-year-old had originally been charged with attempted second-degree murder in that case for allegedly firing a gun into a car with his ex-girlfriend and a baby inside.

Baez is due in court Monday.
