TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Police arrested a man accused of breaking into a home and stealing from parked cars in town.

Tiverton police said 37-year-old Jesse Dossantos was arrested after a foot chase Monday morning.

Police said Dossantos was suspected of stealing from cars parked at Bally’s Twin River Casino and of breaking into a home on Stafford Road.

Both incidents occurred in late April.

Police said an officer saw Dossantos on Stafford Road Monday and questioned him because he matched the suspect description from those incidents.

Police said Dossantos gave the officer a fake name and then ran away from the officer.

After a foot pursuit, police said Dossantos ran into the woods, but was later arrested after leaving the woods at the intersection of Karen Avenue and Restful Valley Road.

Dossantos is charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty, receiving stolen goods, and being a fugitive from justice.

Tiverton police said Dossantos also had an active arrest warrant from Fairhaven.
