CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Topgolf Rhode Island opened its doors on Friday morning.

A ribbon cutting ceremony officially opened the new venue on Sockanosset Cross Road in Cranston.

It is the first Topgolf to open in New England. There is one in the works in Canton, Massachusetts.

The year-round venue has 102 climate-controlled hitting bays, spanning three separate levels. Each bay has a lounging area for friends to gather.

It’s not just for experienced golf players; first-timers will be met with a relaxed environment to learn.

“It is an entertainment venue. You do not need to know how to play golf, that is the beauty of it. You can come in, have fun, we will show you how to play,” said Chanda Burleson, director of operations.

“We have food made from scratch, we have amazing drinks, and a chef team that puts out amazing food and we host big events, as well,” she said.

Topgolf Rhode Island has already created about 500 jobs.

The venue is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday, 9 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
