Tractor-trailer catches fire on I-95 in Exeter

EXETER, R.I. (WLNE) — A tractor-trailer truck caught fire on I-95 in Exeter on Tuesday night.

Rhode Island State Police said crews responded to the fire at a weigh station around 9:13 p.m.

Officials said the trucker noticed his cab was smoking while traveling northbound.

The driver got out safely after pulling into the weigh station, according to authorities.

Police said the roadway was shut down temporarily while crews put out the fire.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
