Trader Joe’s is recalling its raw walnuts because of a potential salmonella contamination.

The company announced the recall after routine testing revealed the presence of salmonella in certain packages of its raw walnuts.

Affected products are packaged in clear plastic bags and labeled: Trader Joe’s Nuts Raw California Walnut Pieces, Trader Joe’s Nuts Raw California Walnut Halves & Pieces, Trader Joe’s Nuts Raw California Walnut Baking Pieces, Trader Joe’s Nuts Raw California Premium Walnut Halves and Trader Joe’s Organic Raw Walnut Halves & Pieces.

Recalled products were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide but have since been pulled from the shelves until the FDA and manufacturers involved find the source of the problem.

To date, the company has not received any illness complaints related to the recalled products.
