Trades workers to rally for safer working conditions
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Members of the Rhode Island Building and Construction Trades Council and Rhode Island AFLCIO will rally for safe jobs Wednesday.
This as representatives say many workers have been put in unsafe working conditions by unscrupulous contractors.
They’ll be asking lawmakers to pass legislation giving inspectors the ability to shut down unsafe sites and keep workers out of harm’s way.
They plan to gather at the construction site on George M. Cohan Blvd. in Providence Wednesday at 4 p.m.
