Traffic restored in Warwick after truck crashes into railroad bridge

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Part of West Shore Road in Warwick was temporarily closed after a truck crashed into the railroad bridge on Thursday morning.

Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi said the bridge was damaged after a truck crashed into the trestle bridge in the Apponaug section of the city.

 

Part of West Shore Road near the railroad was closed. Traffic on West Shore Road heading toward Apponaug was moved down George Arden Avenue to Main Avenue.

The mayor advised drivers to avoid the area during the morning commute.
