Trooper investigating Read case takes witness stand in murder retrial

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Day 12 of testimony continues Thursday in the second murder trial of Karen Read.

One of the lead investigators with Massachusetts State Police was called to the witness stand Thursday.

Sergeant Yuri Bukhenik was questioned about his decision to seize Read’s SUV and cellphone without a warrant.

He also discussed the evidence he was given at the start of the investigation.

Bukhenik also showed evidence to the jury including a sneaker and jeans.
