Truckers take part in convoy for Special Olympics Rhode Island

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Trucking Association joined state law enforcement agencies for the fifth annual Torch Run Truck Convoy for Special Olympics Rhode Island.
The association said over 70 trucks took part in the event with police joining.
The convoy began at the IGT Headquarters parking lot in West Greenwich, drove from Route 295 North to Route 146, and returned from Providence to West Greenwich via Route 6, Route 295, and Route 95 South.
The association added that all proceeds will go to Special Olympics Rhode Island to enable Special Olympics athletes to train and compete year-round, free of charge.
