Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) is President Donald Trump’s latest target on Twitter, amid the impeachment inquiry.

Rep. Cicilline, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” to talk about the impeachment hearings.

“This is a classic example of an impeachable offense,” said Cicilline. “The President of the United States asking a foreign government to interfere in an American presidential election– This is what our founders spoke about when they were speaking about impeachment: about an abuse of power. About using the power of the presidency to advance your own personal or political interest ahead of the national interest.”

Following Cicilline’s interview, President Trump retaliated on Twitter.

“Don’t get why @FoxNews puts losers on like @RepSwalwell (who got ZERO as presidential candidate before quitting), Pramila Jayapal, David Cicilline and others who are Radical Left Haters? The Dems wouldn’t let @FoxNews get near their bad ratings debates, yet Fox panders. Pathetic!” The president said.

“[Trump] goes for the jugular. He doesn’t let up. He’s very vitriolic; he’s very mean and aggressive. That’s his style,” said political analyst Joe Cammarano.

Cicilline replied: “Thanks for watching, Mr. President. Why won’t you testify about your attempt to get Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election?”

The congressman then tweeted again, posting a photo of him with Swalwell and Jayapal.

“While you’re busy tweeting insults, we’re busy working to honor our oath of office to protect and defend the constitution and safeguard our democracy,” Cicilline said via Twitter.

The House Judiciary Committee convenes Monday to formally receive the investigative findings against the president.

President Trump continues to refer to the inquiry as a “hoax.”

Cammarano said this week’s impeachment hearings will be contentious and we should expect more feuds like this.

“I think that people just need to keep their cool. I recommend not following the Twitter feeds of anybody because that’s where the most infantile behavior occurs,” said Cammarano.
