Twin River becomes crime hot spot

There’s been a string of bad luck for Twin River over the past month. It’s suddenly become a hot spot for crime. Most recently, an employee was assaulted and robbed in the parking lot.
"In the last two months we’ve responded to three or four crimes that have occurred over at Twin River,” said Captain Philip Gould of the Lincoln Police Department.
First, there was vandalism. On February 9th, 43-year-old Jeffrey Parillo allegedly slashed the tires of fourteen cars, possibly the result of an unsuccessful day of gambling.
"One could speculate that he wasn’t happy with the way things might have gone inside. Certainly when you randomly go pick 13 or 14 vehicles and slash their tires you are taking some aggression out,” said Gould.
Next, there was an incident on February 25th where a 61-year-old woman was robbed and then thrown to the ground. And this past weekend, there was another assault. An employee was walking to his car around 3 a.m. when he was brutally attacked by two men. Those suspects are still at large.
"They approached him, they kind of postured up and they were laughing at the individual. You know, these bullies, these suspects were sitting there and victimizing this person and enjoying themselves while they did that which is about as heinous as it gets,” said Gould.
Twin River issued the following statement to ABC6:
"We have zero tolerance for violence at Twin River and are looking at this incident carefully as well as working closely with our local Lincoln Police to capture the individuals involved. Moreover, we continuously evaluate our security protocol and are exploring ways to address any new issues that arise."
Lincoln Police say they believe a woman witnessed the casino employee being assaulted but she may not have realized exactly what she was seeing. Anyone with information is asked to contact them immediately.
