Newport Grand’s relocation to Tiverton is now in the hands of voters.
The bill that would allow Twin River to transfer its operations at Newport Grand to a new facility in Tiverton was passed by the Senate Thursday after having been approved earlier this week by the House.
The bill passed on a vote of 33-2 in the Senate and 66-3 in the House.
The legislation, which will now be forwarded to the governor, would put questions on a ballot this November, where it will require approval by voters both statewide in Tiverton. Both would have to pass for the move to occur.
