Two juveniles arrested after crashing stolen car

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Two juveniles are in custody after stealing a car and leading Police on a pursuit spanning several Rhode Island communities.

Pawtucket Police responded to an address on Johnston Street around 5:00 a.m. for reports of a stolen vehicle.

A description of the vehicle was broadcast to nearby officers, who managed to locate the vehicle in the area of Pine Street and Main Street.

Police engaged the vehicle in a brief pursuit before calling it off due to public safety concerns after the vehicle crossed town lines in North Providence.

Pawtucket Police again broadcast a description of the vehicle to surrounding departments to aid in finding it.

The vehicle was later located after striking a building at 695 Eddy Street in Providence.

Two juvenile suspects were apprehended attempting to flee the scene and were taken into custody. Neither reported any injuries.

Both juveniles are set to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Reckless Driving / Eluding, and Conspiracy.
