NEW BEDFORD, MASS. — Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the wild dirt bike ride through New Bedford on Halloween night that ended with a police officer being run over.

The two 17-year-old males have been charged with recklessly operating an ATV. However, eleven other men have already been arrested for the incident.

All charges stemmed from the Halloween incident, when New Bedford Police Officer Sergeant Trinidad was injured while trying to stop some of the riders after multiple reports of dirt bikes and ATV’s running stop lights and driving on sidewalks, which posed a threat to trick-or-treaters.

Sgt. Trinidad was run over while officers were moving in to make arrests. He has since recovered.
