Two men arrested on cocaine distribution charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police and Providence Police Department arrested two men suspected of distributing large amounts of cocaine.
Aneurys Javier Santana, 31, and Derian Moreno Herrera, 26, both of Providence, were arrested on February 27 and are being held without bail.
Both men were charged with possession of cocaine in excess of 1 kilogram, possession with intent to deliver of a schedule I/II controlled substance – cocaine and controlled substance conspiracy.
During the course of the arrests, authorities recovered over eight grams of cocaine, narcotics distribution materials, kilogram press equipment and over $38,000 in cash.
The Rhode Island State Police HIDTA Task Force and the United States Postal Inspection Service carried out the collaborative investigation into Santana and Herrera.
At the conclusion of the investigation secured search warrants for 79 Hawkins Street, Providence, Rhode Island and 25 Cheshire Street, Apartment 1, Providence, Rhode Island with the assistance of the Providence Police Department Violent Crime Task Force.
