Two men shot in Providence

Providence Police are investigating after two people were injured in a shooting Wednesday night.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sassafras and Savings Streets. Providence Police Captain Oscar Perez say two male victims received multiple gunshot wounds to the midsection area, and one in the throat, while sitting in a car outside of a residence.
The victims, both Providence residents, were transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Captain Perez says they were both conscious and alert when crews arrived, but their condition is unknown at this time.
So far, police do not have anyone in custody, and detectives are now investigating.
