Two more Newport high school students arrested in alleged assault of special needs student
NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Two additional Rogers High School students have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a student with severe impairments.
According to the Newport Police Department, two male Rogers High School students were arrested Monday and charged with assault against the same victim.
The suspects are 14 and 17-years-old.
The first arrest was made Friday when a 16-year-old male Rogers student was charged with two counts of felony assault on persons with severe impairments.
A second 16-year-old male Rogers student was arrested Saturday and charged with assault.
The alleged incident occurred in a school locker room, and police began their investigation after viewing cellphone videos of the alleged assault.
