Two police cruisers destroyed in fire outside of police station in Massachusetts

DRACUT, Mass. (WLNE)- Two police cruisers were destroyed in a fire outside of the Dracut Police Department on Wednesday night.

Officers responded to multiple calls about a fire in the stations back parking lot at around 9 p.m.

First responders found that one marked cruiser was on fire in the lot. That cruiser, as well as another, was destroyed in the fire.

The loss of the cruisers will not impact the department’s level of service, according to Chief Peter Bartlett.

Investigators located a woman near the station and deemed her a person of interest. She was taken to a local hospital to undergo an evaluation.

The incident remains under investigation and no one has been charged at this time.

No one was injured during the fire.
