Two shots fired incidents reported in New Bedford Tuesday

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford police responded to two separate shots fired incidents early Tuesday morning.

The first incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. when police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the Summer Street and Weld Street intersection.

Arriving officers discovered a damaged window at a Summer Street residence.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

Another incident of a man with a gun was reported at around the same time on Yale Street.

Alfredo Loya, 22, has been identified as the suspect who police say discharged a firearm at the Yale Street residence before fleeing the scene.

Loya also has several active warrants for his arrest, according to police.
