Two suspects charged for involvement in early morning stabbing

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I (WLNE) – Two suspects are facing charges after their involvement in an early Saturday morning stabbing. 

Officers The North Smithfield Police Department were dispatched to the area of a Great and Lapre Road for the report of a male that was stabbed multiple times. 

Officers met with 30-year-old Brandon Chippo, who had multiple stab wounds in his abdomen area. 

He was transported to the hospital by rescue.

The officer’s investigation led them to a house on Morse Ave in North Smithfield, which police say through evidence, is determined to the be the location of the stabbing. 

Three people were detained and question regarding the incident, and ultimately, two people face charges. 

26-year-old Alexandra Ciuraru was charged with Domestic Felony Assault and Domestic Disorderly conduct. 

25-year-old Mathew Durand was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Disorderly Conduct.
