Two taken to hospital after fire at veteran’s home in Middleboro

MIDDLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE)- Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire at a veteran’s home in Middleboro.

First responders arrived at the scene of the fire on West Grove Street at around 1:12 a.m.

A State Police Trooper was the first on scene, at which point he noticed a man who was trapped on the third floor. He used a ladder to rescue the man and get him to the ground safely.

Both the trooper and the man were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

There were another 12 people inside of the home at the time of the fire. All of them were able to get out safely.

The Red Cross is helping the 13 residents from the home, as the home is a total loss.
