Two teens face judge after Fall River shooting

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Two teens arrested after the fatal shooting of a student in Fall River faced a judge on Monday.

Xzavien Figueroa-Valcarel, 19, and Giovanni Nunes, 18, are being held on $250,000 bail.

Figueroa-Valcarel had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf.

If the suspects post bail, both will be held under house arrest and will have to wear a GPS tracking device.

They will also have to agree to have no contact with any other defendants or witnesses in the case.

“The front seat passenger from that Acura fired four shots from a 40-caliber firearm from the intersection at Mr. Mills-Good,” said the prosecuting attorney.

“One of the backseat passengers ran directly at Mr. Mills-Good and at point blank range fired five shots from a 45-caliber firearm.”

“Mr. Figueroa is not particularly strong,” said Figueroa’s attorney. “He’s the one who said ‘don’t shoot him.’”
