Two West Greenwich Marijuana Church members appear before a judge today

Two members of the Healing Church of Rhode Island, a religious organization that uses cannabis in its services, will appear before a judge Tuesday.

56-year-old Anne Armstrong and 46-year-old Alan Gordon, both leading members of the church, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and intent to deliver after officers discovered a growing operation in their West Greenwich home.

Police seized 12 pounds of useable marijuana, 59 marijuana plants, 10 pounds of hash oil and packaging materials.

Both Armstrong and Gordon were ordered held without bail.
