Uber offering free rides from Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Newport parade goers don’t have to bet on luck to get home safely this year.

A “Ride the Wave” initiative offering free rideshare rides from the Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be unveiled March 11 at 1 p.m.

The initiative will be launched by Newport police and fire chiefs, city councilors and Strategic Prevention Partnership.

The parade is scheduled for March 16 and the service will be available for rides from downtown Newport March 16 at 1 p.m. until March 17 at 2 a.m.
