UHIP Problems: Five people incorrectly marked ‘dead’

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — There are more reports of trouble for Rhode Island’s new benefits system.

Five people’s UHIP benefits have been revoked because of a glitch that incorrectly marked them as “dead.”

The state is now in the process of reaching out to the people who lost their benefits.

However, this is just the most recent problem for the new system including thousands of applications that have still not been processed and a security breach that compromised the personal information of over 200 people.
