UMass Dartmouth Run for Veterans 5K postponed to October

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — UMass Dartmouth announced Wednesday that their Run for Veterans 5K has been postponed until October due to potential severe weather.

The university said the event will now be held on Sunday, October 22, starting at 9 a.m. Check-in will be at 8 a.m.

The run is still scheduled to happen on the UMass Dartmouth Coach Robert Dowd Cross Country Course.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support programming for the UMass Dartmouth Student Veterans’ Services Program Fund.

The fund supports services provided to military-affiliated students like transition assistance, mentorship initiatives, tutoring and more.

All runners will get a timing chip to record accurate start and finish time and medals will be given to top three runners in each age category.

The event is open to the public and interested runners can register here.
