Undersea robotics lab in Bristol awarded $4M grant
BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee and Secretary of Commerce Liz Tanner presented Blue Robotics Lab in Bristol with a $4 million grant Wednesday.
The grant was through the University of Rhode Island’s Innovation Campus program.
The non-profit, which works to test undersea robots and bring them to market, is expected to bring 400 jobs to the state.
Secretary Tanner added that the state’s Blue Youth program will allow students as young as high school-aged to intern in the state’s blue tech sector.
